WordPress Automatic Upgrade

Since WordPress is always evolving and changing, this plugin is an essential tool for every WordPress user. Once activated this tool will automatically upgrade your version of WordPress to the latest version. I’ve been using this plugin for quite some time now with little or no adverse effects. Once in a while I’ll have to manually reactivate plugins, but that is minor compared to the sweat and equity one would put into manually upgrading WordPress to the lastest version.

Features:

  1. Backs up the files and makes available a link to download it.
  2. Backs up the database and makes available a link to download it.
  3. Downloads the latest files from http://wordpress.org/latest.zip and unzips it.
  4. Puts the site in maintenance mode.
  5. De-activates all active plugins and remembers it.
  6. Upgrades wordpress files.
  7. Gives you a link that will open in a new window to upgrade installation.
  8. Re-activates the plugins.

OneClick Installer

This has got to be one of the best plugins that I have come across so far. Simply install the OneClick plugin and install plugins and themes with a one or a couple of clicks. To really take advantage of this plugin, use in conjunction with FireFox where you can right click on any link and install any plugin or theme into WordPress. (Does not require FireFox.)
